According to R esolution M..PP.. S..CC.. N°° 171 / 201 6 , resolutions and supplementary provisions , electrical and electronic products (nnominal value under 100 0Vac or 1500Vd c)) shall have a certificate that proves that they meet the essential safety requirements.

This compliance must be shown continuously,, because of that , a market surveillance activities performed on samples taken from local market and the fact ories warehouses shall be completed on a regular basis,, established in M..PP.. S..CC.. N°° 171//22016,, Annex V.

Certificates are issued by national certification bodies that must meet the dual requirement of being accredited by the OAA and recognized by the Enforc ement Authority (DDNCI,, National Direction of Internal Commerce)) Economy Ministry .

The applicable standards for the evaluatio n of the products shall be IRAM shown in Table 4.. For the other products that do not appear in the Table,, the certifications must prove that they meet the essential safety requirements established on IRAM or IEC Standards.. The tests , included in the standards mentioned before,, shall be performed in Argentina by laboratories recognized by the DNCI ; these laboratories shall show technical expertise for the tests and standards involved . This technical expertise can be sh owed by being accredited by the OAA or by being evaluated directly by Intertek.. The laboratories shall also show their impartiality by means of the mechanisms mentioned..

To ea sily identify a product that complies with the mandatory certification,, it must bear identification . For Type and Lot certification,, the certification mark must show the certification body name who carries on the certification process and issue the certificate in Argentina..

The certificate indicated above is the document that Argent inean manufacturers,, Argentinean vendors,, and Argentinean importers need to show compliance with the Res.. M..PP.. S..CC.. N°° 171 and the respective resolutions and supplementary dispositions , in front of the local authorities..

The company that applies for the ce rtificate is called the applicant..

Once the certificate is issued,, the applicant becomes the certificate holder . For products traded in Argentina,, only natural or legal persons settled in Argentina can be certificate holder .

The Argentinean certificate holder s can extend their certificate s to other companies in Argentina by a public deed according to the Res . S..CC.. N°° 282//22014 .

Foreign manufacturers can apply for a certificate,, and become a certificate holder until the product trading in Argentina . At the moment in which the product is to be traded in the country,, the foreign manufacturer shall identify an Importer that will introduce a sample following the Res.. 178 /22000 to be tested locally and complete the procedure established by the application authori ty,, the Importer will become also certificate holder that allow s him to trade the respective product .
