Energy Conservation
Energy conservation efforts involve actions designed to reduce energy expenditures and to make energy use more efficient without compromising the level of service, and while preserving a positive ecological balance. Energy conservation and energy efficiency are a vital goal for Israel's energy sector and that of other countries, as well as for large and small energy consumers, and the inhabitants of Israel and the world alike.
Energy conservation contributes to a reduction in energy expenses for the consumer, to an improved quality of life, to reduced pollution of air and water resources, and nationally, to a reduction in the economic burden and the dependence on energy imports.
The Israeli Government and the Ministry of Energy and Water Resources are promoting a wide range of activities to encourage energy conservation and energy efficiency for economic, strategic and environmental reasons.

The Energy Conservation and Efficiency Division at the Ministry of Energy and Water Resources works to improve Israel’s energy balance by more efficient energy use and optimal exploitation of energy, and promotes the use of alternative energy resources. The Division provides public information and educates the public in the issues within its realm, and is under the responsibility of the Deputy Director for Energy Infrastructures and Water.
The Division takes the lead in all facets of energy efficiency: regulation, enforcement, planning, and initiation and execution of projects in all sectors. With the extensive, persistent and professional activity of the Division, backed by the Ministry's top echelon, the Ministry of Energy and Water Resources is bringing about a revolution in all aspects of the Government's energy efficiency activities.
